    Payroll Specialist

    Job Description

    This role involves performing a wide variety of mid-level payroll functions and special projects in support of all business areas. The individual is expected to exercise discretion in the disposition of both routine and non-routine matters. The position provides customer service to employees, including management, regarding payroll questions or issues. The role is responsible for leading the development of scalable processes, overseeing the payroll systems environment, and ensuring timely and accurate payroll submission and reporting. During off payroll cycles, the specialist will work on special projects, clean-ups, customer communication, and answering questions.

    Responsibilities

    + Manage payroll processes for both exempt and non-exempt workforce.

    + Oversee and manage time clock systems.

    + Provide customer service and support to employees and management regarding payroll inquiries.

    + Lead the development of scalable payroll processes.

    + Ensure timely and accurate payroll submission and reporting.

    + Conduct payroll reconciliation and cleanup tasks.

    + Communicate effectively with employees and management to resolve payroll issues.

    Essential Skills

    + 2+ years of experience with ADP Workforce Now.

    + Expert knowledge of federal and state tax withholding requirements.

    + Understanding of garnishment procedures, wage and hour laws, FLSA, Social Security, and Medicare withholding.

    + Sound understanding of payroll accounting requirements and their relation to the General Ledger.

    + Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

    + Experience with Bullhorn or similar timekeeping systems.

    + Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Preferred HRIS experience.

    + Canadian payroll experience is beneficial.

    Work Environment

    The team consists of three members, including a payroll manager and a senior payroll representative. This role is a backfill position, as the previous contractor moved out of state. The position is hybrid, requiring three days onsite (typically Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) and two days remote, with some flexibility in days and hours. Ideal candidates should be self-starters, go-getters, and possess strong communication skills.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $33.00/hr.
