Job Overview
The Senior Director of GUMC Constituent and Board Engagement is responsible for the management, engagement, and fundraising outcomes for board volunteers within Georgetown University’s Medical Center and in partnership with the GUMC Advancement office, which exists to support the mission and philanthropic ambitions of the GUMC.
This position will oversee the strategic creation and management of a new-to-Georgetown board, the GUMC Leadership Board, advising the Georgetown Medical Center. Part of the position’s initial mandate will be to identify and onboard a Board chair, as well as craft bylaws, a board mission, and help guide the identification and partner on the solicitation of prospective founding Board members. Once the Board is actively running, this role will also create an engagement strategy to steward members throughout the year. The goal for this Board is to be made up of 12-15 business and philanthropic leaders across the globe, focused on promoting and increasing financial investments in the GUMC’s top fundraising priorities. Serving as the Medical Center’s most senior ambassadors, this position and this Board will provide counsel to the EVP for the Medical Center, the VP for Medical Advancement, and other GUMC and Georgetown University leaders and partners.
Through strategic engagement and partnership with GUMC Advancement colleagues, this position will ensure the Board’s continued personal philanthropy and facilitate introductions among their networks. This role will work with Board members to prepare for and solicit annual gifts on behalf of GUMC from peers, serving as critical partners to the Advancement team.
The Senior Director will work closely with internal and external partners and stakeholders to design and implement meaningful quarterly Board Meetings. The role will ensure the content and any relevant sub-committee or member work is additive and aligned to the strategic priorities of the GUMC, and will be a thought partner to University and Medical Center leadership for all board-related matters and work.
Work Interactions
This position will report to the Vice President, GUMC Advancement and work closely with the Managing Director, GUMC Operations and Strategic Engagement, and the Office of the Executive Vice President for GUMC. They will liaise with partners from across the University, including the central Office of Advancement, the Offices of the Provost and President, and the Secretary of the University.

Requirements and Qualifications
+ Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience
+ 7-10 years of professional experience in a related organization
+ Proven relationship management and building skills
+ A creative and strategic thinker with experience cultivating a strong community and driving strategic priorities of an institution.
+ Experience in medical center fundraising
+ Outstanding written and verbal communication and ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at different levels within the organization
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Master's degree preferred
+ Experience in working with and/or developing and building a philanthropic leadership board

Pay Range:
The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is:
$80,429.00 - $157,238.93
Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University’s business needs and external factors.
