    Position Summary:

    We are seeking a highly motivated Controls Engineer to join our engineering team focused on the development and implementation of vehicle control systems for heavy equipment. This role involves designing, developing, testing, and optimizing embedded control systems that enhance the performance, safety, and efficiency of off-highway and construction vehicles.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Design and develop embedded control algorithms for vehicle systems such as propulsion, steering, braking, hydraulics, and operator interfaces.

    + Collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical, electrical, and software engineers to define system requirements and architecture.

    + Develop and calibrate control strategies using tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, C/C++, or model-based design environments.

    + Integrate and validate control systems on hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulators and physical prototypes.

    + Conduct system-level testing and troubleshooting in lab and field environments.

    + Support diagnostics, fault handling, and safety-critical control logic in compliance with industry standards (e.g., ISO 26262, ISO 13849).

    + Document control system design, software architecture, and validation procedures.

    + Stay current with emerging technologies in vehicle automation, electrification, and telematics.

    Required Qualifications:

    + Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.

    + 3+ years of experience in control systems engineering, preferably in the heavy equipment, automotive, or off-highway vehicle industry.

    + Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink, C/C++, and embedded software development.

    + Experience with CAN communication protocols(e.g., J1939, CANopen) and diagnostic tools.

    + Familiarity with real-time operating systems (RTOS)and embedded controllers (e.g., dSPACE, NI, Bosch, Parker, or similar).

    + Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach to testing and validation.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $48.00 - $64.00/hr.
