Responsibilities

+ General maintenance of all Salvation Army property including parking lot areas; General building upkeep; will be following a check list for duties; ability to use cleaning tools and equipment; Ability to maintain facility in a clean environment

+ Cooperates in total staff effort designed to improve the center’s service

+ Receiving of all deliveries and ensuring that they are securely packed and covered in Storage room.

+ After packing away delivered items in pantry and storage area, make sure that all spills are swept and mopped.

+ Perform minor repairs such as ceiling, tile changing, stopping of leaks wherever required, etc.

+ Clean and maintain in front of building by keeping area clean at all times.

+ Donation pick up if necessary, driving the corps 12 passenger van

+ Order supplies given in written form to the Corps Officer for approval, who then passes it on for the Secretary to complete; Ability to keep simple inventory of supplies on hand and as needed.

+ Following a checklist of expected work and providing it to Corps Officers and building Administrator for approval; Ability to read and write in order to follow written work schedules.

+ Must have basic computer skills – email, ability to do online training

+ Must be able to take direction, to work with minimal supervision, and to function cooperatively as part of a team

+ Maintain cooperative relationships with other staff, children, parents and visitors to the center.

+ Any and all other duties as assigned

Qualifications

+ High School Diploma

+ 1-2 years work experience in various handyman/odd jobs. (Related experience in general custodial duties, such as cleaning, repairing and painting.)

+ Valid State Driver’s License
