    Job Title: Substation EngineerJob Description

     

    Are you passionate about shaping the future of power infrastructure? Join our team as a Substation Engineer and take the lead in designing and delivering high-impact substation projects from concept to energization.

    Responsibilities

    + Lead the conceptual, preliminary, and final detailed design of new, upgraded, and expanded substations.

    + Support material procurement, construction, and commissioning/startup through energization.

    + Manage the full lifecycle of substation projects, including scoping, budgeting, scheduling, planning, execution, monitoring, and reporting.

    + Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of project engineers, designers, drafters, and support staff to ensure seamless project execution.

    + Uphold rigorous quality control standards to deliver best-in-class results.

    + Serve as the primary interface with clients and stakeholders, ensuring alignment and satisfaction.

    + Coordinate with internal subject matter experts across disciplines such as Distribution & Transmission Studies, Grounding & Protection Systems, Civil & Transmission Engineering, SCADA Integration & Communications, Environmental Planning, Surveying, and Right-of-Way, and Project Controls and Management.

    + Provide technical mentorship and training to design staff, fostering growth and excellence across the team.

    Essential Skills

    + 3+ years of experience within substation design engineering.

    + Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.

    + Strong understanding of substation engineering, project management, and electrical engineering.

    + Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    + Strong organization and planning skills.

    + Ability to work in a team environment.

    + Commitment to quality and accuracy.

    + Willingness to meet fast-paced project schedules.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Master's degree in Electrical Engineering is a plus.

    + Experience in design engineering is a plus.

    + Commitment to progress towards PE licensure is encouraged.

    + Fundamental knowledge of power engineering principles and applicable codes and standards.

    This position offers both in-office and hybrid working options, providing flexibility to support a balanced work-life approach.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $48.00 - $72.00/hr.
