    An environmental consulting firm is currently hiring for an Environmental Field Technician to support a long-term infrastructure project at Puget Sound Naval Station in Bremerton, WA. This is a full-time, onsite opportunity and does not support relocation. Candidates must reside near Bremerton, WA or be willing to relocate independently. This position requires a minimum of 1+ years of experience in environmental fieldwork, with a strong preference for candidates holding a HAZWOPER certification and experience on federal or military projects.

     

    Pay– (Depending on years of experience, certifications, federal project familiarity, and technical proficiency)

     

    Location– Bremerton, WA (Onsite at Puget Sound Naval Station)

     

    Schedule– Standard Monday–Friday (40 hours per week)

    Responsibilities

    + Conduct environmental sampling and categorize contaminated soils for offsite disposal.

    + Perform field density and compaction testing using nuclear gauge or sand cone methods.

    + Support environmental compliance and documentation for active construction sites.

    + Assist with site assessments and reporting in accordance with local and federal regulations.

    + Collaborate with geotechnical and environmental teams to ensure project specifications are met.

    Qualification Requirements

    + 1–4+ years of relevant field experience in environmental or construction inspection.

    + Background in Environmental Science, Geology, or related field.

    + Experience with soil sampling, compaction, and density testing procedures.

    + Familiarity with Phase I/II Environmental Site Assessments.

    + (Highly Preferred) HAZWOPER certification.

    + (Preferred) Experience with military or federal projects.

    Disqualifiers

    + Inconsistent job history or short tenures.

    + No experience with soil compaction or density testing.

    + No familiarity with environmental site assessments or contaminated soil management.

    + Lack of federal/military project experience.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $40.00/hr.
