    Job Description

    We are currently seeking a Laboratory Analyst for an immediate opening in the Akron Rubber Laboratory, which serves as both a research and quality control lab for rubber industry products. The Analyst will collaborate with the global tire additives team, supporting production facilities across the Americas, Europe, and Asia/Pacific regions. The role involves continuous learning and teamwork in a highly integrated setting, providing research support in new product development and quality assurance.

    Responsibilities

    + Perform accurate and precise weighing of chemicals.

    + Follow sample preparation protocols according to customer requests.

    + Operate internal mixers and two-roll mills.

    + Conduct physical, mechanical, and rheological laboratory testing using both automated and manual instruments.

    + Ensure safety around chemicals and machinery.

    + Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures.

    + Maintain a clean and organized work area.

    + Assist in preventative maintenance of laboratory equipment.

    + Use the Laboratory Information System for reporting results.

    + Support initiatives to enhance laboratory operations.

    Essential Skills

    + Proficiency in chemistry, quality control, and laboratory procedures.

    + Experience with wet chemistry, titration, and analytical chemistry.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + High School diploma or equivalent with laboratory experience required; Bachelor’s degree in Science preferred.

    + Completion of Chemistry courses and labs.

    + Capability to work in a fast-paced, quality-focused laboratory environment.

    + Proficiency in working within high-performing teams safely and responsibly.

    + Strong written and verbal communication skills.

    + Self-starter mentality with a high sense of urgency.

    + Adaptability to dynamic environments.

    + Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

    + Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

     

    Work Environment

     

    The position is based in both the rubber and analytical labs, emphasizing safety and teamwork in a quality-focused environment.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
