    Job Description

    We are seeking an enthusiastic Entry Level Data Scientist to join a leading organization in commercial enzyme production. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a solid experience in data analysis and programming to gain valuable experience in managing data pipelines and supporting applied data science projects in a production environment. You will collaborate with seasoned engineers and data scientists to ensure efficient data flow, robust analysis, and continuous learning.

    Responsibilities

    + Operate and maintain industrial data pipelines, ensuring consistent data ingestion, transformation, and delivery from remote factory systems.

    + Write and monitor data processing jobs in Python to clean, validate, and prepare time series and event data for downstream use.

    + Develop basic statistical summaries, trend detection tools, and anomaly monitors to support operational analytics and model development.

    + Collaborate with engineers and scientists to define data needs, assess data quality, and refine feature engineering strategies.

    + Support ongoing data science initiatives by preparing datasets, running model inference jobs, and building evaluation reports.

    + Contribute to the development and documentation of tools, dashboards, and ETL workflows to support reproducibility and observability.

    + Gain exposure to streaming data technologies (e.g., Apache Pulsar), containerized workflows (Docker), and distributed systems architecture.

    + Understand and contribute to the broader ecosystem of operational technology, including interactions between the data layer and industrial control systems.

    Essential Skills

    + Solid foundation in Python

    + Experience with pandas

    + Motivated to learn and comfortable asking questions

    + Ability to work independently with mentorship

    + Strong communication skills

    + Team-oriented attitude

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience or coursework in data science is preferred, or a strong interest in learning it

    + Exposure to modern development tools like Git, Docker, and VS Code is a plus

    + Familiarity with web development concepts, including the request/response cycle, APIs, and basic data structures and algorithms

    Work Environment

    This is a hybrid role with onsite presence required on Mondays and Wednesdays. You will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, utilizing cutting-edge technologies and tools to support your professional growth.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.
