    Job Title: Quality SpecialistJob Description

     

    As a Quality Specialist, you will lead and conduct environmental monitoring activities within the production facility, acting as the site expert in hygienic design, zoning, and sanitation. You will develop work instructions and procedures to enhance plant sanitation programs, organize and conduct training sessions, and initiate continuous improvement actions. Your role is crucial in ensuring compliance with quality standards and improving the understanding and performance of hygienic design and plant sanitation.

    Responsibilities

    + Lead and conduct environmental monitoring activities for the production facility, focusing on hygienic design, hygienic zoning, and master sanitation.

    + Develop work instructions and procedures to enhance hygienic design and plant sanitation programs.

    + Organize and conduct training to improve understanding and performance regarding plant hygienic design non-conformances.

    + Initiate continuous improvement actions and lead root cause analysis for deviations related to environmental monitoring.

    + Report swabbing results as key performance indicators to appropriate parties to improve environmental monitoring.

    + Collaborate with departments on complaints, new product start-up, and internal non-conformances for raw materials and products disposition.

    + Organize and conduct training to enhance understanding and performance of SOPs and GMPs, and write work instructions.

    + Ensure proper inventory management.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience in quality management, HAACP, FSMA, SQF, GMP, and lab environments.

    + Leadership experience with a focus on driving results and continuous improvement.

    + Proficiency in conducting root cause analysis and corrective action/preventive action (RCA/CAPA).

    + Experience with 5S methodologies and sensory analysis.

    + Minimum of 5 years of experience in food quality or a BS Degree in Sciences (Biology, Chemistry, Food Science, etc.).

    + Basic experience with Microsoft Excel (6 months).

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + SAP or ERP experience is a plus.

    + Bilingual in Spanish is a very big plus.

    + High School Diploma with a quality background or BS Degree in the Sciences.

    Work Environment

    The position is based in a production environment, working from 8am to 4pm, Monday to Friday. Mandatory overtime may be required to cover for first-shift team members who are on vacation or out sick. You will collaborate with 20 production employees, two day-shift technicians, and two night-shift technicians. The culture promotes self-motivation and independence, and you will be expected to lead the shift in quality, with support available from the production shift supervisor.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $33.00/hr.
