Job Title: Principal Systems Engineer
Job Description
Join a dynamic team that is responsible for the operational data of a secure high-availability communication system between aircraft, airline host systems, and Civil Aviation Authorities. This worldwide communication network utilizes diverse technologies such as RF private WAN networking, network management, data analytics, embedded communication protocols, mobility management algorithms, and high availability/disaster recovery solutions. Over the next five years, you will play a pivotal role in engineering the modernization and overhaul of the world's largest air-to-ground airline operation and air traffic communication system.
Responsibilities
+ Analyze statement of need and business requirements.
+ Lead highly technical engineering teams on system-focused projects.
+ Provide analysis for the decomposition of customer specifications and system level requirements into sub-system and piece part requirements.
+ Develop solutions with cross-discipline engineering teams.
+ Document technical analysis.
+ Perform analysis of data flows and data logs.
+ Analyze system performance against established parameters such as latency, availability, and capacity.
Essential Skills
+ Requirements design and decomposition.
+ Data analysis.
+ System development lifecycle (SDLC).
+ Technical planning.
+ BS STEM Degree plus 8 years of systems experience.
+ Experience with full life-cycle development, test, implementation, and long-term support.
+ Complex systems implementation involving multiple servers, interfaces, networks, and databases.
+ Configuration management, functional analysis, timeline analysis, operational scenarios, detail trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition.
+ Integration with external systems.
+ Statistical analysis of complex systems performance.
+ Technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk analyses.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Proven communication and collaboration skills.
+ Participation in industry committees developing interface or communication specifications.
+ Experience with aeronautical communication, air traffic management, or airline operations.
+ Experience with storage and management of large data.
+ Operations Center Support.
+ Master's Degree.
+ RF Experience.
+ Knowledge of contemporary technologies applicable to product and market needs.
+ Experience working with government customers, FAA, air traffic control (ATC).
Work Environment
You will work four days a week in Annapolis, collaborating within cross-functional teams alongside software, hardware, and network engineers. The environment is highly integrated, fostering teamwork and employee engagement. The position involves working with high availability systems, with a focus on redundant architecture and design.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $160000.00/hr.
