Job Title: Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Manager
Position Summary
The Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Manager is responsible for cultivating and maintaining a strong safety and environmental culture across all company operations. This role oversees the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of EHS programs in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. The EHS Manager serves as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies such as Cal/OSHA, CalEPA, SCAQMD, DTSC, CUPA, and the State Water Board, ensuring the organization meets all applicable environmental and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
+ Lead and manage all aspects of federal and state regulatory safety programs, including but not limited to: Confined Space Entry, Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP), Process Safety Management (PSM), Respiratory Protection, Lockout/Tagout, Emergency Action Plans, and Contractor Safety.
+ Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and facility permitting requirements (e.g., RMP, SWPPP, SPCC, CUPA, SCAQMD).
+ Develop, implement, and continuously improve EHS policies, procedures, audits, and inspections.
+ Administer the company’s IIPP and other safety programs across all facilities.
+ Manage the strategic safety plan, including regular audits and updates.
+ Drive environmental initiatives focused on waste reduction and sustainability.
+ Serve as the primary point of contact for all regulatory and compliance agencies.
+ Design and deliver training programs to support safety and prevention initiatives.
+ Collaborate with departments to support specific EHS program needs.
+ Track, analyze, and report on workplace incidents, near misses, and property damage; lead root cause investigations and corrective actions.
+ Develop and maintain safety and environmental documentation and records.
+ Partner with workers’ compensation and insurance representatives on loss prevention strategies.
+ Recommend and implement safety improvements based on facility observations.
+ Prepare and submit timely reports to regulatory agencies.
+ Oversee and coordinate with external consultants for EHS-related projects.
+ Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
+ 15+ years of experience managing EHS programs in a manufacturing environment.
+ Proven supervisory and leadership experience.
+ Strong background in program management and regulatory compliance.
+ Demonstrated success in leading Behavior-Based Safety (BBS) initiatives.
+ ASP or CSP certification preferred.
+ Willingness to travel regularly to company facilities.

+ Skilled in preparing reports, procedures, and training materials.

+ Proficient in using various software applications.
+ Ability to interpret complex technical instructions and data.
Physical Requirements
+ Regularly required to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
+ Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
+ Visual requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception, as well as the ability to adjust focus.

+ May be exposed to hot, cold, or wet conditions in manufacturing settings.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $120000.00/yr.
