    I2X Technologies is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to support ongoing activities for a customer in Highlands Ranch, CO . This position will be *on-site* .

     

    Title: Mechanical Design Engineer (Tooling Design Support)

     

    We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to provide engineering support for satellite structures and antennas tooling design. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing mechanical systems, including bond fixtures, support structures, layup molds, transportation equipment, environmental test equipment, alignment tools, and other related equipment. The ideal candidate will have experience with PTC Creo software and be familiar with ASME Y14 and Space standards.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    Primary Responsibilities:

    + Provide mechanical design engineering support for satellite structures and antennas tooling design

    + Design mechanical systems using PTC Creo software, including:

    + Bond fixtures

    + Support structures

    + Layup molds

    + Transportation equipment

    + Environmental test equipment

    + Alignment tools

    + Develop engineering drawings to applicable ASME Y14 and Space standards

    + Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design requirements are met

    Deliverables:

    + Develop requirements and release a Quick Spec document for each assigned Tooling End Item

    + Release final design CAD models for each assigned Tooling End Item

    + Develop, present, and archive Requirements Table Top and Concept Table Top presentations for each assigned Tooling End Item

    + Release an FFMEA report (if applicable) for each assigned Tooling End Item

    + Release final engineering drawing for each assigned Tooling End Item

    Qualifications

    Requirements:

    + Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field

    + Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical design engineering

    + Minimum 5 years of experience in CAD

    + Proficiency in PTC Creo software

    + Familiarity with ASME Y14 and Space standards

    + Excellent communication and presentation skills

    + Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Experience with satellite structures and antennas tooling design

    + Knowledge of mechanical design principles and practices

    + Familiarity with FFMEA and other reliability engineering tools

    Work Environment:

    + This position will be working on a 12-month contract

    + The work will be performed in an office environment with occasional visits to manufacturing areas

    Essential Requirements:

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee will regularly sit, walk, stand and climb stairs and steps. May require walking long distance from parking to work station. Occasionally, movement that requires twisting at the neck and/or trunk more than the average person, squatting/ stooping/kneeling, reaching above the head, and forward motion will be required. The employee will continuously be required to repeat the same hand, arm, or finger motion many times. Manual and finger dexterity are essential to this position. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, depth perception and telling differences among colors. The employee must be able to communicate through speech with clients and public. Hearing requirements include conversation in both quiet and noisy environments. Lifting may require floor to waist, waist to shoulder, or shoulder to overhead movement of up to 20 pounds. This position demands tolerance for various levels of mental stress.
