Job Summary
The Fort Dodge Community School District is seeking a reliable, flexible, and enthusiastic short-term substitute to fill in for an employee on leave. The duration of this assignment is estimated to last between 1 and 12 weeks, depending on the circumstances. This role will support students and/or staff by maintaining continuity in instruction, supervision, and/or operations in the absent employee’s role. *This position is not benefits eligible.
Essential Functions
+ Deliver lessons and follow plans provided by the regular staff member (as applicable).
+ Maintain a safe, respectful, and productive environment.
+ Monitor student behavior and maintain classroom or work area expectations.
+ Communicate effectively with students, staff, and administrators.
+ Follow school policies, procedures, and daily schedules.
+ Perform other duties as assigned that support the continuity of the absent employee’s role.
+ Performs other duties, as assigned.
+ Reliable work attendance is required.
Requirements
+ Current substitute authorization through the Iowa Board of Educational Examiners.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
+ Knowledge of current teaching methods and educational pedagogy enabling differentiation
+ Knowledge of data information systems, data analysis and the formulation of action plans.
+ Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education and students.
+ Ability to use computer network system, technology devices and software applications.
+ Ability to organize and coordinate work.
+ Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, coworkers and the greater community.
+ Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth.
+ Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others.
Travel Requirements
+ Travels to school district buildings and professional meetings as required
