Description

Tyto Athene is searching for a **Senior Telecommunications Manager** to support U.S. Southern Command on the SCITES II Contract in Doral, Florida.

The Senior TelecommunicationsManager manages and oversees DAO SOUTHCOM’s base telecommunication service contracts, acting as the primary liaison between third-party service providers and DAO SOUTHCOM. This role ensures the secure and effective operations of voice video and data communication systems and leads a team of telecommunications professionals to support mission-critical communications infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

+ Provide secure and non-secure voice services using multi-vendor solutions across DAO SOUTHCOM, supporting reliable and secure communication capabilities.

+ Coordinate with commercial, U.S. Government, foreign government, and DoD service providers to address outages, arrange installations, and terminate services as needed. Analyzes telecommunications requirements, proposing solutions and strategies that align with organizational goals and operational needs

+ Develop and enforce policies and procedures for telecommunication service management, covering service performance and issue resolution

+ Oversee the integration of new telecommunications technologies, fostering enhanced capabilities and improved communication infrastructure

+ Serve as the technical expert and senior advisor on all telecommunications-related matters

+ Develop and enforce telecommunications policies, procedures, and best practices in alignment with DoD standards (e.g., DISA, STIGs, RMF)

+ Monitor network traffic, performance, and availability; proactively address issues or degradations

+ Provide leadership and mentorship to junior and mid-level telecommunications personnel

+ Ensure compliance with cybersecurity regulations and support incident response related to telecom infrastructure

Qualifications

Required:

+ Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Information Technology, or related field

+ 10+ years of experience in telecommunications, with at least 3-5 years in a managerial or senior technical leadership role

+ Experience with VoIP systems (Cisco Call Manager, etc.), Unified Communications, and secure voice/data networks in a DoD environment

+ Ability to work independently and within a team in a high-tempo environment

+ Strong leadership, communication, and vendor negotiation skills

Desired:

+ Master’s degree in a related technical field.

+ Experience in supporting tactical and enterprise telecommunications for military operations

+ Working knowledge of DISA UC and Voice Services architecture

+ Experience with encryption devices (e.g., TACLANE, KG-175).

+ Experience with remote site support and OCONUS telecommunications operations

+ ITIL v4 Foundation certification

+ Cisco Certified Network Professional

+ Microsoft Teams Voice Fundamentals

+ Certified Technology Specialist

Clearance:

+ Secret clearance required with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI

Certification:

+ DoD 8570 Baseline & CE certifications are required for all positions and may vary slightly depending on the skillset required to perform the role

+ CompTIA Security+ CE

+ Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
