This position is part of the Government Publication Sales, Government Publishing Office in Washington, District of Columbia. Responsibilities Consolidates and reconciles the Customer Service Assistants' monetary transactions, performing audits, disbursing cash and reconciling various financial documents. Writes, reviews and/or approves correspondence, forms, and instructions to employees, reports and statements as required by GPO, other agencies, and customers or for internal office use. Serves as main point of contact for client problem resolution. Manage onboarding of new customers, coordinating with internal GPO departments to develop processes to satisfy customer needs. Develop customer publication websites and coordinate with GPO IT to create the visual, data and order file specifications required to meet customer expectations. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications To qualify for the Supervisory Customer Service Specialist, PG - 0301 - 9 , you must meet the following requirements: To qualify for the Supervisory Customer Service Specialist, PG-0301-09, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the PG-07 grade level in the Federal Service that includes: 1) assigning staff work assignments depending on workload, customer requirements for external and internal customers; 2) prioritizing customer inquiries, complaints and resolutions; and 3) identify requirements for GPO and stakeholders on multiple new accounts, while providing guidance, training and advising subordinates. OR Master's or equivalent graduate degree, related to the work of the position. OR 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education or LL.B. or J.D., if related- leading to such a degree related to the work of the position. OR Combination of education and Specialized experience that equals 100%. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement (08/05/2025) to be considered. Education Substitution of Education in lieu of specialized experience may be used. If you cannot obtain your graduate school's definition of one year of graduate study, 18 semester hours (or 27 quarter hours) should be considered as satisfying the requirement for one year of full-time graduate study. FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university. Background Investigation: For a Suitability: To ensure the accomplishment of its mission, the GPO requires every employee to be reliable and trustworthy; this position requires a background investigation for Suitability. To meet those standards, all selected applicants must undergo and successfully complete a background check for Suitability. This review could include fingerprints and credit checks, as well as a full field FBI background investigation and tax and bar checks for attorney applicants. The background investigation covers a period of seven to ten years depending on the nature of the position; this process may take 6 weeks or longer. The Agency may rescind the tentative offer, if the candidate is unable to pass the background investigation. The selectee will work shift 1.
