Position Summary
This Supply Chain Management/Logistics internship position will be working as a summer intern for UNICEF . The student will report both to a manager at the company as well as Dr. John Macdonald at CSU .
This position is designed as a bridge between larger 2025 work in both MGT 377 (Advanced Logistics; Spring 2025 semester) and MGT 486B (Practicum in Supply Chain Management; Fall 2025 semester).
The internship will only be 2-3 weeks long and likely include only one project to be completed. There will be a minor leadership component of helping orchestrate communication between the other three supply chain management interns working on projects for UNICEF .
Position Minimum Qualifications
+ BS/BA/Concentration in Supply Chain Management

+ Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, challenging environment.
+ Strong time management and organizational skills.
+ Ability to compose social media posts (strong grammar, word choice, etc.).
+ Ability to stay disciplined in sending necessary emails.
+ Understanding of Supply Chain Management and Logistics.
+ Ability to synthesize existing information and develop new resources.
+ Excellent communication skills, including writing.
+ Prioritize responsibilities to meet deadlines with successful completion of work.
+ Ability to engineer PPT slides.
+ Proficient with Microsoft Excel.

Essential Job Duties

Duty/Responsibility
+ Serve as a lead intern and orchestrate communication between the other three supply chain management interns working on projects for UNICEF .
+ Assist in coordinating the procurement, transportation, and delivery of humanitarian supplies.
+ Research of international logistics import/export processes for humanitarian goods.
+ Support inventory management and tracking of goods in warehouses and field locations.
+ Help maintain logistics databases and filing systems (e.g., for procurement records, shipping documents).
+ Monitor and report on the status of shipments and deliveries.
+ Participate in needs assessments and logistical planning for relief operations.
+ Liaise with suppliers, transporters, and field staff to ensure timely and efficient delivery.
+ Assist in preparing documentation for customs clearance and import/export processes.
+ Support the development and maintenance of standard operating procedures (SOPs).
+ Attend coordination meetings and take meeting minutes as needed.
+ Help ensure compliance with organizational and donor policies.
+ Perform administrative tasks such as data entry, document formatting, and slide engineering.
