Job Description
Grace is seeking an Operations Supervisor for our Advanced Refining Technologies plant at the Curtis Bay site in Baltimore, MD. Reporting directly to the Operations Manager.
The Operations Supervisor leads a team and ensures the safe and efficient operation of assets, equipment and processes. Ensures leadership and guidance provided to team members is aligned with mission, vision and strategy. Works with assigned team members to ensure timely operations of assets using safe work processes and procedures.
The schedule for this role is 12 hour rotating shifts which may include days, nights, holidays and weekends.
Schedule: 12-hour, rotating shifts including days and nights, holidays, and weekends.
1. Week 1: 4 consecutive night shifts, then 3 days off
2. Week 2: 3 regular day shifts, off for 1 day, then 3 night shifts
3. Week 3: 3 days off, then 4 consecutive day shifts
Curtis Bay is a 24/7 365 day Union manufacturing site.
Responsibilities
+ Supervises employees in the specialty chemicals manufacturing plant
+ Assures regulatory compliance, including environmental and process safety, and champions a safe workplace for all employees. Address hazards, deviations, and injuries in a timely manner.
+ Directs response to emergency situations to include emergency shutdown procedures.
+ Interfaces with others in the organization to ensure customer deadlines are met.
+ Directs workers in adjusting equipment and processes to correct products which fail to meet quality standards.
+ Coaches, counsels and disciplines employees, addresses complaints and and resolves conflicts.
+ Interprets various sets of data and determines how to resolve/troubleshoot complex equipment/systems
+ Maintains housekeeping standards by performing requisite audits.
+ Analyzes and resolves production issues to include enforcing labor relation's policies and resolving grievances.
Physical Requirements and Environment
+ Must be willing to wear PPE (Personal Protective equipment) including but not limited to hard hat, protective eyewear, steel-toed boots, hearing protection, Level A suit, full face respirator
+ Must be able to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb stairs and ladders over 100 ft.
+ Ability to work in a high hazard environment, including adverse weather conditions, elevated spaces, confined spaces, extreme temperatures, and noisy surroundings.
+ Ability to follow safety protocols and standards working in a pilot plant facility with highly hazardous materials
Required Qualifications
+ High school diploma or equivalent
+ 5+ year’s supervisory experience in a manufacturing setting.
+ Must be able to work 12 hour shift work to include both day and night.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Demonstrated leadership ability to direct and motivate employees
+ Demonstrated ability to act in a safe manner and teach employees on safety standards.
+ Proficient in MS Office.
