    Job Description Summary

    The Manufacturing Technician sets up and operates production equipment to manufacture, process, and assemble various commercial products and substances. Uses product specifications, blueprints, diagrams, and standard operating procedures (SOP) to produce products. Monitors output for quality and conformance to required metrics. Prepares and maintains required records of production activities and reports any inconsistencies or equipment issues. Follows established guidelines for safe material handling and protective gear.

    Responsibilities

    + Test production assemblies and sub-assemblies for correct operation and compliance to performance specifications.

    + From detailed instructions, set up or modify equipment, calibrate and operate equipment (mainly routine tests & multiple manufacturing operations/products)

    + Tune equipment as per detailed instructions

    + Utilizing initiative and independent judgment, construct and assist in evaluating engineering models

    + Perform advanced troubleshooting encompassing multiple variables and unknowns to achieve root cause analysis and problem resolution. Conduct experiments and diagnostic tests, as required to draw conclusions

    + Responsible for the maintenance of standard equipment and facilities

    + Maintain accurate records of the work performed and other records as may be required by management

    + Utilize strong technical communications throughout the new product cycle to improve internal models and/or externally sourced components in terms of system performance, reliability, functionality, and serviceability

    + Work is highly standardized and is guided by the supervisor with frequent checks

    + May participate in quality control inspections

    + Maintains daily production output

    + Train other team members through technical communications and/or presentations

    + Serve as the manufacturing expert on new product introductions by providing feedback to engineering and manufacturing personnel as new products are developed, and new procedures are implemented

    + Develop and execute training plans as required

    + Provide strong individual contributions in the context of developing and achieving team goals

    + Provide technical leadership by assisting others in troubleshooting, answering questions and seeking engineering assistance

    + Works with team lead, engineers, supervisors, and managers to improve quality and process efficiency

    + Other duties as assigned and may be asked to be included in Quality and LEAN activities, training sessions and employee activity teams

    + Complies with all EHS and Quality procedures and policies.

    Required Qualifications

    + Associate degree in a Manufacturing, Engineering or Technology related fields, or a High School diploma and 5 years’ experience as defined by having demonstrated electrical specific skills at a technician equivalent role proven in a formal educational and/or work environment

    + Proficiency to logically troubleshoot at subsystem and system level, using identifiable problem-solving techniques

    + Ability to draw accurate conclusions from test data, malfunctions, or deviations, and assist with corrections to the existing design or process

    + Proficiency to understand and interpret intermediate written technical information

    + Demonstrated ability to work well with limited direction and information

    + Demonstrated attention to detail and quality-minded work habits

    + Thru hole and surface mount soldering experience

    + Ability to communicate using English (or local language).
