    Description of Job

    This position is open only to Colorado state residents.

    WHAT YOU WILL DO

    This is a term-limited position and is anticipated to end on June 30, 2026.

     

    In partnership with the Deputy Attorney General of the Criminal Justice Unit Section, Legal Counsel to the Attorney General, and the Legislative Director, this position is responsible for managing all operational and substantive work related to the newly created Sex Assault Forensic Medical Evidence Review Board (Board) within the Department of Law (DOL) as established by SB 25-304. The Project Coordinator will lead the efforts to establish and support the Board, ensuring it meets its statutory obligations, including drafting a report to the legislature. Specific Duties include:

     

    + Administer and manage the Sex Assault Forensic Medical Evidence Review Board by coordinating member appointments, developing operating procedures, and providing comprehensive logistical and administrative support.

    + Plan and facilitate Board operations including scheduling meetings, preparing agendas and materials, ensuring statutory compliance, and supporting Board decision-making through expert coordination and follow-up.

    + Drive continuous quality improvement and communication efforts by evaluating processes, maintaining collaboration with internal and external partners, and providing regular updates and strategic recommendations to DOL leadership.

    + Develop and implement a strategic plan to fulfill the Board’s statutory mandates, including conducting in-depth research, analyzing current practices, and drafting a comprehensive legislative report with stakeholder input.

    + Lead stakeholder engagement and policy review by identifying key partners, evaluating best practices and legislation, and incorporating diverse perspectives into Board recommendations and materials.

    + Support Board decision-making and report development by synthesizing complex data, resolving conflicting feedback, facilitating consensus among members, and ensuring compliance with statutory timelines and requirements.

     

    Salary note: Although a salary range is listed, salary will be set commensurate with the successful candidate's qualifications and in compliance with the Equal Pay for Equal Work Act. Salary will be paid on a biweekly basis.

     

    This recruitment may be used to fill other similar positions within the Criminal Justice section.

     

    Minimum Qualifications, Substitutions, Conditions of Employment & Appeal Rights

    WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

    Minimum Qualifications and Substitutions: Please document all relevant experience in detail on your application. Experience will not be inferred or assumed. Any part-time experience listed will be prorated.

     

    + Six (6) years of project management experience. Experience must have included managing timelines and deliverables, ensuring deadlines are met, and creating written deliverables for the project.

    OR

    + A combination of related education and/or relevant project management experience equal to six (6) years. Experience must have included managing timelines and deliverables, ensuring deadlines are met, and creating written deliverables for the project.

     

    Note: Candidates possessing a foreign degree must submit a translation (evaluation) of their degree from an accredited institution, such as The National Association of Credential Evaluations Services in order to be given credit for the degree.

    Preferred Qualifications: In addition to the minimum qualifications, if you possess any of the following specifically include the details on your application. This information will be used to assess your qualifications and may be used to determine a top group of applicants.

     

    + Experience with project management including oversight of and responsibility for project outcomes

    + Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with a variety of stakeholders

    + Demonstrated experience working in a trauma informed capacity, such as working with victims of crime or survivors of sexual abuse

    + Ability to be an independent self-starter with high initiative and ability to deliver on work product

    + Experience creating written materials for a general public audience

    + Experience working in a setting that required making suggestions for public policy

    + Knowledge of general laws impacting this subject area and the public policy process for making recommendations.

    + Experience interpreting statute requirements and translating into program objectives.

    + Experience establishing and supporting a board, including developing agendas, managing minutes, and overseeing ongoing board operations.

    + Strong de-escalation skills and ability to mediate differences to achieve common goal
