Job Summary
Decontaminates, sterilizes, cleans, inspects, and maintains instruments and equipment. Packages supplies and instrument trays according to designated procedures. Appropriately uses sterile processing equipment. Interacts with outside vendors and service personnel in a professional and courteous manner.
Job Duties
+ Collects and decontaminates all used patient care equipment and instruments.
+ Assembles, packages and sterilizes reusable packs, procedure trays, instruments and equipment.
+ Operates equipment with proficiency according to manufacturer’s instructions.
+ Priorities are set in fulfilling work assignments.
+ Understanding and following aseptic technique in the handling of sterile supplies.
+ Performs necessary cleaning tasks.
+ Assists operating room personnel as needed.

Position Details
Education
High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)- (Required)
Experience
Minimum of 1 year-Related work experience (Preferred)
Certification(s) and License(s)
Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) within 1 year - Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) (previously IAHCSMM)
