    We are seeking a **_Research Data Analyst_** who will analyze human cell line and organoid multi-omic data related to mechanisms of drug resistance and/or tumorigenesis in breast and gynecological cancers. The position will work in two cancer laboratories in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (Dr. Nayar and Dr. Jenkins-Lord) within the Bloomberg School of Public Health at Johns Hopkins University. This position will have the opportunity to work on one or more of several projects focusing on transcriptional control of resistance, therapeutic vulnerabilities of resistant cancer, cancer health disparities, and oncogene variant-to-function efforts.

    Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

    + Make design and data collection methodology recommendations.

    + Have primary responsibility for data analysis, interpretation, and reporting for multi-omic data being generated within the two laboratories

    + Develop and/or refine data analysis methodology, including defining in detail data requirements, data sources and proper data collection procedures, e.g., computer programs, appropriate data fields, databases.

    + Develop and implement data collection quality assurance procedures to ensure validity and reliability of study results.

    + Create/build and maintain databases, records and files.

    + Perform data analysis and interpretation, utilize knowledge of statistics and quantitative analysis. Present research data.

    + Generate reports, charts, tables and create presentations.

    + May supervise or oversee the work of others engaged in data collection and/or analysis.

    + May serve as resource for research staff regarding data issues: collection, entry, quality, transfer.

    + May contribute to writing sections of manuscripts/publications.

    + May present data at meetings.

    Minimum Qualifications

    + Bachelor's Degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology or related field

    + Three years of related experience

    + Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional related experience may substitute for required education beyond HS Diploma/Graduation Equivalent, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

    Preferred Qualifications

    + Research experience in a cancer laboratory setting.

    + Experience working with human RNAseq, ATAC-seq, methylomics, and other epigenomic datasets.

    + Ability to work well with others, enthusiastic to learn, highly organized, and motivated to contribute to the scientific and mentorship goals of the labs.

     

    Classified Title: Research Data Analyst

    Role/Level/Range: ACRP/04/MC

    Starting Salary Range: $48,000 - $66,000 - $84,100 Annually (Commensurate w/exp.)

     

    Employee group: Full Time

     

    Schedule: Monday to Friday: 9 am – 5 pm

     

    FLSA Status: Exempt

    The listed salary range represents the minimum and maximum Johns Hopkins University offers for this position, based on a good faith estimate at the time of posting. Actual compensation will vary depending on factors such as location, skills, experience, market conditions, education, and internal equity. Not all candidates will qualify for the highest salary in the range.
