    This is a hybrid role reporting to the Morrisville or Wilmington, NC office. Must be within a commutable distance to one of these offices.

     

    Within Medical Communications, we improve patient health by supplying medical information services to our customers, patients and healthcare providers. We engage with healthcare professionals, regulatory agencies and pharmaceutical customers to help them navigate regulatory and compliance requirements around the world. We manage medical information inquiries, document adverse events and product complaints, report product launches, prepare standard responses to inquiries and develop process improvements for customer implementation.

     

    A day in the Life:

     

    Responds accurately and professionally to technical and medical information inquiries received via phone, email, internet or mail in reference to pharmaceutical or device products. Processes fulfillments and provides clinical trial information or after-hours on call support.

     

    Analyzes caller’s questions to formulate an accurate and concise response using client-approved resources and records inquiries and interactions in the appropriate databases following organizational, client and regulatory guidelines.

     

    Identifies, records and triages adverse events and product complaints according to organizational, client and regulatory guidelines and provides additional support (including follow up) as needed.

     

    Maintains thorough knowledge of project and corporate policies and procedures including client products, SOPs, protocols, GCPs, and applicable regulatory requirements.

     

    Works closely with internal and external client contacts (up to and including members of client management) to resolve complex inquiries. As needed, researches medical literature and drafts responses for such inquiries.

     

    May engage in advanced clinical conversations

    Education:

    Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or PharmD

    Experience requirements:

    Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 5+ years).

     

    At least 3 years of Medical/Scientific Writing is required. Comparable to 3 of the 5 years of experience would qualify).

     

    Active NC pharmacy license is required.

     

    Experience example: Independently researches, writes, and edits standard medical information writing deliverables across various therapeutic areas. Independently writes more complex medical writing deliverables. Examples may include global or regional standard response documents, custom responses, and FAQs. Provides senior review of documents and training/mentoring for other writers.

     

    Experience working in the pharmaceutical/CRO industry preferred.

     

    Additional qualifications in medical writing (AMWA; EMWA; RAC) advantageous, but not required.

     

    _In some cases an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role._

    Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

    Excellent verbal and written communication skills

     

    Excellent language skills (comprehension, speaking, reading and writing); Fluency skills in a second language may be required

     

    Proficient computer and keyboarding skills

     

    Good interpersonal skills

     

    Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

     

    Ability to interpret client provided complex medical and technical information, including advanced topics such as pharmacokinetics

     

    Organizational and time management skills

     

    Ability to maintain a positive and professional demeanor in challenging circumstances
