    MAINTENANCE MECHANIC

    Annual Salary: $38,127.70

     

    Shift: 8:00am – 4:30pm

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    + Basic computer skills are required.

    + Must be willing and able to be on-call and/or work a schedule that is inclusive of weekends and holidays.

    + Able to lift 75 - 100 pounds without assistance.

    + One (1) year of experience in the maintenance and repair of buildings, electrical, plumbing or mechanical equipment.

    + Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance

    + Knowledge of materials, methods and tools involved in the construction or repair of buildings

    + Valid Driver License.

    + Successful completion of the employment screening process to include, but not limited to, a national background investigation and drug test.‎

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :

    + Knowledge of AHCA Life Safety Procedures for an LTC facility

    + Able to read and understand ASBUILDS (blueprints)

    + High School diploma or equivalent

    PERFORMANCE STANDARDS/EXPECTATION:

    The selected candidate will work under the supervision of the Utilities and Maintenance Superintendent. The duties and responsibilities include:

     

    + Repair and maintenance of the physical plant, property, equipment and mechanical systems of the State Veterans’ Home.

    + Assisting to ensure a safe environment exists in compliance with all Federal, State, and Local requirements.

    + Performs routine preventative maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently and the physical condition of the buildings do not deteriorate.

    + Provides routine repair services to defective equipment, repairs physical plant deficiencies, resolves routine work orders, assists with the assembly, delivery and installation of facility equipment.

    + Documents actions and outcomes of preventative maintenance efforts, repair services and other routine actions to assist the Maintenance Superintendent in maintenance of a concise record of services rendered.

    + Maintaining a clean and safe work environment, assists the Maintenance Superintendent with maintaining a focus on safety and accident prevention throughout the facility.

    + Other related duties as assigned by the supervisor
