    Purpose:

    _As an Electrocardiography Technician, you'll play a crucial role in our Cardiopulmonary Department, working alongside professional staff to perform essential diagnostic tests like E.K.G.s, Treadmill Stress tests, Holter monitors, and Event recorders. You'll ensure all procedures meet the established medial and cardiopulmonary protocols, while mastering the UPMC Washington skills and responsibilities.     Responsibilities:

    + Perform and assist with cardiac diagnostic testing according to standards, policies, and procedures.

    + Accurately report information to medical staff and the Cardiopulmonary/EEG team for appropriate care.

    + Demonstrate competency in all technical skills and patient care procedures.

    + Consider patient-specific age, developmental stages, and unique needs.

    + Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA rules and regulations.

    + Solve problems by considering all relevant facts for timely, good decisions.

    + Follow guidelines for electronic records, charts, and documents to ensure privacy and security.

    + Attend and participate in in-services and departmental meetings to stay updated on policies and procedures.

    + Maintain and advance competency in job requirements and identify opportunities for improvement.

    + Use courteous, respectful, unbiased communication with patients, families, visitors, and team members.

     

    Schedule: Shift are 6 or 8 hour, shift that rotate between 7a-3p; 7a-3:30p; 6a-2:30p; 9a-5:30p; 7a-1p; 8a-2p. Must be able to work rotating days, weekends, and holidays. May be pulled to other days/shifts at the needs of the Hospital. Can work weekly 20-24 hours.

    Qualifications

    + High school diploma or GED equivalent required

    Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

    + Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or achievement within thirty (30) days of employment required.

    + Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting

    + Act 33

    + Act 34

    + Act 73 FBI Clearance
