Tierra designs and develops electronic systems (both software and hardware) for geo-localization, management, remote diagnostics and maintenance of equipment, vehicles, sensors, and industrial products. Position Overview
Leveraging on a solid experience and technical background, the Applications Engineer train customers, perform product demonstrations, and support sales with technical support for Tierra products and services. During the demos, the FAP may, in certain cases, proceed with the installation of the solutions. These installations will be for demonstration purposes only.
Responsibilities and Duties
Customer Support:
+ Organize, prepare and manage demos for demonstrate Tierra services and products to prospects and customers;
+ Provide technical training to prospects and customers with detailed knowledge on product usage during start-up phases and new feature rollouts;
+ Collaborate with Tierra Engineers on field testing, fine-tuning, and functional requirements collection;
+ Conduct the classroom training at Topcon Solutions Store facilities for large groups of people on Tierra solutions;
+ Work closely with Topcon Sales team to identify the best product solutions within the Topcon/Tierra suits of products to meet customers’ needs and workflows;
+ Collaborate with Tierra marketing and technical support to develop and maintain appropriate technical information, training material and guides to support Tierra America’s sales and marketing programs and initiatives.
+ Attend alignment meetings with the Sales Manager and provide reports on the status of their activities
Field Technical Service:
+ Perform implementation and field configuration of telematics solution, with a particular focus on hardware installations and web platform setup;
+ Troubleshoot complex installation issues, research and identify solutions to resolve issues and improve system performance;
+ Provide Pre and Post Sale Technical Support assistance for customers and the sales team via phone, email, remote access, and field visits when necessary.
Customer Relationship Management:
+ Maintain periodic contact with customers regarding technical tasks;
+ Take a proactive approach to maintaining healthy fleet operations and customer platform configurations;
+ Build trust-based relationships with customers.
Qualifications
+ Technical Degree (electronic, electrotechnical, mechatronic or similar);
+ At least 5 years of solid professional experience in a technical role, including installation, testing, on-field support or in a laboratory;
+ Technical Skills: electronic components applied to machines; understanding of electrical diagrams and ability to perform simple wiring; electro-mechanical skills for hardware installation and troubleshooting; web and embedded applications; CAN bus systems and data analyzers; Industrial Equipment, Telecommunications and Telematics domain knowledge;
+ Soft Skills: excellent interpersonal skills; strong Customer Service and Support focus; commercial attitude; ability identify and generate customer needs;
+ Agriculture or Construction technology-related experience is preferred.
Physical Requirements
+ Able to lift 40 lbs.
+ Able to walk on rugged job sites and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Working Conditions
+ Work is typically 50% indoors and 50% at outdoor job sites.
+ Required Travel (by plan or car), fluctuates depending on business requirements subject to change at any time
+ Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record
Expected Base Pay Range: $80,000 to $100,000 Annualized
Target MBO Bonus: 10%
The base pay range included is a projected hiring range for a position, level and potential work location(s) listed. Topcon provides the compensation range that it in good faith believes it might pay and/or offer for this position. This compensation range is based on a full-time schedule.
