    Are you a current Respiratory Therapy student eager to gain hands-on experience in a supportive and dynamic healthcare environment? UPMC Cole is looking for a dedicated and motivated **Respiratory Care Assistant** to join our team!

     

    This is a **flexible day and evening shift** position—perfect for students balancing coursework and clinical experience. While **no holiday shifts** are required, some **weekend availability** may be needed.

    What You’ll Do:

    Under the guidance of a Respiratory Therapist IV, you’ll support both patient care and equipment management. Your responsibilities will include:

     

    + Cleaning, disinfecting, and sterilizing respiratory equipment

    + Replacing oxygen and compressed gas cylinders for patients of all ages

    + Managing inventory and distributing respiratory care supplies and medications

    + Assembling and stocking respiratory supplies throughout the hospital

    + Assisting with equipment tracking, maintenance, and repair coordination

    + Supporting emergency procedures, including CPR, when needed

    + Ensuring proper documentation and equipment identification

    + Maintaining sterility and cleanliness according to departmental protocols

    What We’re Looking For:

    + Current enrollment in a Respiratory Therapy program

    + Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

    + A team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn

    + Basic computer proficiency

    High school diploma or equivalent.

     

    Enrollment in a post-secondary education program preferred. _Preference given to students enrolled in an accredited respiratory therapy program._

     

    Must be able to lift equipment and or supplies weighing up to 30 pounds and push/handle equipment weighing up to 100 pounds.

    Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

    + Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal

    + Act 33 with renewal

    + Act 34 with renewal

    + Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
