Required Qualifications: Applicants must specifically address how they meet these required qualifications to meet the requirements of the position.
+ Minimum of three years of progressive experience in higher education, with a focus on transfer, orientation, retention, or student transition programming.
+ Experience supervising student staff.
+ Demonstrated experience coordinating programs for college students.
+ Strong organizational, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
+ Ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate across departments.
+ Masters Degree required.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Five or more years of progressive experience in higher education, with a focus on transfer, orientation, retention, or student transition programming at a large, public university.
+ Experience supervising at least one full-time employee.
+ Experience implementing transition programs.
+ Experience working with or leading transfer-specific initiatives .
Job Description
Responsible for providing leadership and coordination of programs and
services that promote student success, retention, and overall
engagement.
Job Duties
Parent and Family Programs (40%)
+ Collaborate with the Director to set the vision and strategy for the university’s family experience offerings
+ Serve as a liaison between the institution and families to support success, retention, and belonging.
+ Assess family-specific needs and oversee appropriate outreach, programming, and engagement initiatives
+ Design and implement initiatives that foster engagement and communication between families and the university community.
+ Serve as the department lead for family-conscious programming.
+ Develop and implement a development plan directed at parents and families.
+ Develop and manage budgets for family programming initiatives.
Transfer Student Initiatives (30%)
+ Collaborate with the Director to set the vision and strategy for the university’s transfer student experience.
+ Serve as the department lead for transfer-conscious programming, ensuring initiatives are responsive to the unique needs of transfer students.
+ Assess transfer-specific needs and design appropriate outreach, programming, and engagement initiatives.
+ Strategically partner with enrollment management and co-enrollment partners to develop clear pathways and resources for students to successfully on-board Texas State.
+ Lead coordination of transfer student appreciation initiatives and community-building programs.
Digital Onboarding and Transition (20%)
+ Oversee the transition experience for all students including oversight for Welcome Week, Digital On-boarding, and spring kick off events.
+ Design, oversee and update digital on-boarding annually to reflect current needs and goals, and ensure timely communication and completion of modules.
Administrative Leadership (10%)
+ Supervise a Senior Coordinator for Family Experiences and a Coordinator for Welcome Experiences.
+ Serve as a member of the departmental leadership team to assist in making comprehensive decisions that impact the new student and family experience.
