• Production Machine Mechanic

    Sturges Manufacturing Co., Inc (Utica, NY)


    Essential Functions:

    + Setup, repair and maintain all production machinery in Finishing Department while adhering to all safety requirements.

    + Perform preventative maintenance on all production machinery/equipment in Finishing Department.

    + Oversee and maintain spare parts inventory for production equipment to minimize machine down time.

    + Disburse, log, and control all tools and fixtures used in production in the Finishing Department.

    + Maintain a neat and clean work area.

    + Assists Maintenance Supervisor with general maintenance projects.

    + All Team Members of Sturges shall know and understand all safety, human resource, and quality policies, including the procedures, work instructions applicable to their position, and how their goals relate to the success of the company.

    Education & Qualifications:

    + High School Diploma/GED preferred.

    + Mechanical, Pneumatic, and electrical experience.

    + Electrical troubleshooting knowledge preferred.

    + Able to operate a drill press, band saws, and small hand tools.

    + Able to make adjustments and small repairs to fixtures and tooling.

    + Knowledge of statistical process control preferred.

    + Able to read measuring instruments.

    + Good computer proficiency.

    + Basic math skills.

    + Strong team player.

    + Good organizational skills.

    + Effective communication skills: ability to deal with others in a respectful manner.

    + This position is deemed a safety sensitive position always requiring alertness.

    + Able to read, write and fluently communicate in English.
