Position Summary
SUNY Geneseo invites applications for the position of Director of Graduate and Transfer Admissions, a key leadership role within the Office of Admissions and Enrollment Management. Reporting to the Executive Director of Admissions and Enrollment Management, the Director will lead strategic recruitment, admissions, and marketing efforts to meet the institution’s graduate and transfer enrollment goals. This position plays a critical role in shaping a diverse, academically strong student body aligned with Geneseo’s mission and strategic priorities.

Required Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree
+ 3–5 years of experience in graduate OR transfer recruitment and enrollment management.
+ Demonstrated supervisory and team leadership experience.
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills, including public speaking.
+ Experience with CRM and SIS platforms
+ Proven ability to manage projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
+ Ability to travel in the United States and abroad, work evenings/weekends as needed; valid US driver’s license and passport required and possess a valid passport (or obtain a valid passport within six months of being hired is required).
+ Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive working/teaching environment.
+ Applicants must be eligible to work in the United States without a visa sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Master’s degree
+ Senior level experience in college admissions, recruitment, enrollment management and employee supervision.
+ Experienced user of Slate, Banner and DegreeWorks

+ Provide leadership in the absence of the Executive Director, serving as second-in-command.

Function 1 – Strategic Recruitment and Enrollment Management
+ Develop and implement innovative, data-informed recruitment strategies to attract and enroll graduate and transfer students.
+ Set and monitor annual enrollment targets in collaboration with enrollment leadership.
+ Lead recruitment initiatives that promote access and attract students from diverse socio-economic and cultural backgrounds.
+ Direct the graduate and transfer admissions process throughout the entire admissions funnel, from inquiry to enrollment.

Function 2 – Campus Collaboration
+ Partner with academic deans, faculty, and administrative offices (e.g., Financial Aid, Registration, Academic Advising, CIT , International Student Services) to support student engagement and enrollment.
+ Collaborate with Communications and Marketing to update web content and execute targeted marketing campaigns.
+ Work with SLATE champion to identify improvement opportunities

+ Manage a defined recruitment territory, including travel for community college visits, graduate and transfer fairs, recruiting events, and regional receptions.
+ Develop recruitment plans tailored to specific demographics and regional needs.
+ Cultivate relationships with high school counselors, community colleges, faculty program directors, and community-based organizations.

Function 5 – Admissions Funnel Management
+ Oversee the evaluation of applications and expedite admissions decisions for graduate and transfer applicants.
+ Ensure consistent, equitable, and efficient review processes aligned with institutional standards.
+ Coordinate and oversee transfer credit evaluations in collaboration with academic departments and the Registrar’s Office to ensure timely and accurate articulation of prior coursework.
+ Train staff on holistic application review and admissions best practices to improve the application experience for prospective students.

Function 6 – Data Management, Analysis, & Reporting
+ Utilize Slate CRM and other data tools to track prospective student engagement, application trends, and yield metrics.
+ Analyze data and prepare reports to assess the effectiveness of recruitment strategies and inform decisions.

Function 7 – Event Planning & Outreach
+ Plan and execute on-campus and off-campus recruitment events, including information sessions, open houses, and yield events.
+ Represent SUNY Geneseo at regional, national, and international graduate and transfer recruitment fairs and conferences.
+ Actively participate in Admissions events, including Open House, Admitted Student Days, regional receptions, etc.
