Summary You will serve as a TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST of NAVSUP WEAPON SYSTEMS SUPPORT. Responsibilities You will make recommendations on shipping schedules and railcar and commercial carrier utilization to ensure maximum benefits at minimum costs to the government You will utilize various carrier programs for freight shipments including Norfolk Southern for rail shipments and FedEx for ground and air shipments You will perform special projects and assists the Director/Deputy Director in the everyday administration of the organization. You will implement Department of Defense (DOD) policies governing the criteria for freight shipments in accordance with the Defense Transportation Regulation (DTR) and the Military Freight Traffic Unified Rules Publication (MFTURP). You will accomplish proper component handling, loading and offloading when scheduling both inbound and outbound shipments. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Comprehensive knowledge of the Navy Supply System and the supply procedures and practices unique to the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program; 2) Knowledge of Global Freight Management(GFM), Freight Acquisition Shipping Tool(FAST), Defense Transportation Tracking System, Syncada, Transportation Global Edit Table(TGET), Transportation Accounting Codes, Commercial and Government Entity Program, and One Touch; 3) A sound understanding of the technical requirements and concepts specified in all reactor plant component technical manuals and NAVSEA/NAVFAC standards to ensure the safe and proper handling of reactor plant components, equipment, and material; 4) Exceptional written and oral communication skills, with the ability to organize, prepare, and deliver briefings, training sessions, and orientations to both individuals and large groups of people.
