**Job Title:** Blasting Technician – Special Process Department

**Location:** Charlotte, NC

**Pay Rate:** $ 20.00/hour

**Schedule:** Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

**Assignment Type:** Temp-to-Perm

We’re hiring a **Blasting Technician** to support our Special Process Department, where you’ll play a key role in surface preparation and part processing for high-end industrial and aerospace components. If you have at least 1 year of blasting experience and are ready to take on a hands-on, safety-focused role, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Operate **manual, walk-in, and automatic blasting machines**

+ Perform **grit blasting and shot peening** of metal components

+ Assist in **loading/unloading parts** , using forklifts or cranes as needed

+ Operate floor scrubbers and complete general housekeeping

+ Maintain a clean and organized work area

+ Transport components between workstations

+ Perform **preventative maintenance** and document records and logs

+ Replenish consumables like blast media, nozzles, and PPE

+ Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and assist in repairs

+ Retrieve, stage, and return tools, fixtures, and processed parts

+ Adhere to JHAs and all safety procedures, including PPE use

+ Assist in setup and processing operations under minimal supervision

Requirements:

+ High school diploma or equivalent

+ **At least 1 year of blasting experience** with various metal media

+ Ability to read and interpret basic shop math, instructions, and blueprints

+ Must pass an **Industrial Reading Test** and **Shop Math Test** (70% or better)

+ Forklift experience or willingness to become certified

+ Comfortable working around **fumes, chemicals, high temperatures** , and in **respirator-required environments**

+ Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs with support equipment

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Experience with maintenance of blast equipment (daily/weekly/monthly PMs)

+ Ability to train others in blasting techniques

+ Familiarity with coatings, water jet media, and surface treatments

+ Background in aerospace, defense, or industrial part finishing

**Pay Details:** $20.00 per hour
