    About Outpatient Clinics

     

    Corewell Health operates over 300 outpatient clinics across Michigan, bringing a multitude of care options to the communities that we serve. There are over 40 different types of primary care and specialty practices, which allows those who work in these clinics the opportunity to learn and explore various interests or to specialize in one area.

     

    Scope of Work

     

    The clinical nurse, under the ANA scope of practice utilizes the framework of the nursing process to provide professional nursing care by incorporating patient-family centered care principles. The Clinical Nurse provides quality patient care under the direction of the Nursing and Operational Leadership according to policies and procedures within an ambulatory setting.

     

    A Radiation Oncology Nurse work in our ambulatory clinic M-F, no weekends or Holidays 8:00 AM-4:30 PM.

     

    This job is located in Radiation Oncology Brachytherapy. This is a specialty area within Radiation Oncology which is a procedural area for internal radiation treatments. Brachytherapy nurses play an important role in the care of the Oncology patients undergoing internal radiation therapy. Their responsibilities include providing direct patient care during procedures, treatment planning, patient education and ensuring radiation safety.

     

    Provides emotional support: Supports patients and family members through consultation, treatment planning, radiation treatments and follow-up care. Educating patients and families: Nurses educate patients and families about radiation therapy procedures, potential side effects and how to manage them.Communication with multidisciplinary team: collaborates with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a coordinated approach to patient careMonitoring and assessing patients and managing side effects: They monitor patients' physical and emotional well-being throughout treatment, including assessing for and managing side effects. Coordinating patient appointments and follow-ups: organizing patient appointments and ensuring timely follow-up visits.

     

    Maintaining detailed and accurate documentation of patient care, including treatment plans, assessments, and interventionsEnsuring safety protocols and ensuring a safe treatment environmentActively participates in interdisciplinary care in patient care conferences and continuous education programsProvides continuity of care and ensures a smooth transition to post-treatment care.

    Qualifications

    + Required Associate's Degree Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with an Associate's degree or equivalent.

    + Preferred Bachelor's Degree B.S.N., or M.S.N., or DNP/PhD - if not minimum BSN prepared, new graduate/nurse with less than one (1) year experience is required to enroll in an accredited BSN program within one (1) year of licensure date and complete within five (5) years required. Preferred effective September 2024.

    + CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association Upon Hire required Or

    + CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross Upon Hire required

    + CRT-At least one Certification from preferred list - UNKNOWN Unknown Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation Upon Hire required
