WSJ. Magazine, Off Duty and The Wall Street Journal’s Style section are seeking a dynamic and self-starting Fashion Assistant to support market-related work, primarily across the men’s fashion and grooming markets.
The ideal candidate is a nimble problem-solver with a deep interest in the fashion industry, especially the men’s market, as well as a talent for project managing and logistics coordinating. They will thrive in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment, and be ready to contribute ideas to our coverage with infectious energy and enthusiasm.
This is a full-time position based in our New York office and reporting to the Senior Fashion Market Editor, Men’s, of WSJ. Magazine. This job will occasionally require evening and weekend work.
You will:
+ Request and maintain samples, primarily for men’s fashion shoots, for the support of coverage in WSJ. Magazine, Style News and Off Duty, executing a rigorous and uniform request protocol.
+ Coordinate with editors to ensure all requests are made and all products are on-site in time for coverage and story ideas. Occasionally assist on set as needed.
+ Develop contacts with industry publicists and relevant companies.
+ Maintain meticulous organizational records of inflow and outflow. Demonstrate flawless understanding of WSJ Standards & Ethics and request protocol.
+ Offer support as needed for other fashion markets and the overall fashion closet, and serve as extra hands during heavy volume periods when large-scale fashion shoots and complex multimedia projects are underway.
+ Support senior editors with scheduling internal meetings, run-throughs and market appointments as needed.
+ Assist on credits for the men’s fashion and grooming markets as needed by the Style and Fashion team.
+ Ensure the top-tier execution and ethical standards of WSJ. Magazine and the wider Wall Street Journal are consistently met: that work is of impeccable quality across all platforms, and that The Journal’s codes of conduct, risk & compliance protocols and overall Standards & Ethics rules are scrupulously met.
You have:
+ 2-4 years of relevant experience at a similar fashion publication or media brand.
+ Flawless project-management skills, and the ability to juggle multiple time-sensitive projects and duties at one time.
+ A thoughtful, detail-oriented working style and a collaborative attitude.
+ Sound judgment and a clear understanding of WSJ’s standards.

Pay Range: $55,000 - $65,000
