Brief Description
The Director, IS – Technology Delivery Advancement is a senior leadership role responsible for driving the strategic and operational excellence of the organization’s technical capabilities. This individual will lead and oversee all technology architecture and technical delivery functions, including solution architects, technical leads, cloud architects, and application architects. The Director will ensure that the technology delivery processes are optimized for efficiency, scalability, innovation, and alignment with business priorities.
Specific Duties
Strategic Leadership and Vision
+ Define and execute the strategic direction for enterprise technology architecture and delivery, in alignment with
+ organizational objectives.
+ Lead the evolution and modernization of technology capabilities, including cloud-first strategies, microservices architecture, and DevSecOps practices.
+ Drive enterprise-wide architectural governance to ensure consistent and secure implementation of technologies and platforms.
Team and Talent Management
+ Provide leadership and direction to technical teams including technical leads, solution architects, cloud architects, and application architects.
+ Build and develop high-performing, collaborative teams by mentoring, coaching, and managing career growth.
+ Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, accountability, and cross-functional collaboration.
Technology Delivery and Execution
+ Oversee the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and performant solutions across application development and infrastructure domains.
+ Collaborate with project and product management teams to ensure architectural alignment with business needs and timelines.
+ Promote and implement best practices in software engineering, architecture design, cloud operations, and agile methodologies.
Architecture and Standards Oversight
+ Establish and maintain enterprise architecture principles, reference models, and standards for system design, integration, security, and performance.
+ Guide architectural reviews and technical assessments to validate solution feasibility and compliance with enterprise frameworks.
+ Evaluate emerging technologies and trends to recommend adoption strategies that provide competitive and operational advantages.
Stakeholder Engagement and Communication
+ Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, ensuring technology roadmaps align with business strategies.
+ Communicate complex technical concepts clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
+ Act as a bridge between technical teams and business stakeholders to ensure mutual understanding and delivery excellence.
Governance and Risk Management
+ Ensure compliance with information security policies, regulatory requirements, and IT governance frameworks.
+ Identify and manage architectural risks and ensure mitigation plans are in place.
+ Support audits, risk assessments, and compliance initiatives as needed.

Technical:
+ Strong understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman).
Education/Experience
Education
+ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field required.
Experience
+ Minimum of 10–12 years of progressive experience in technology leadership roles.
+ Proven track record of leading technical teams in enterprise architecture, solution design, and systems integration.
+ Deep experience with modern cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), API management, and DevOps practices.
+ Strong background in software development life cycles (SDLC), agile methodologies, and enterprise systems delivery.
Additional Criteria
+ Hybrid or on-site role with flexibility based on business needs.
+ Occasional travel may be required for meetings, conferences, or offsite leadership sessions – up to 10%
This position is based out of the Northfield, IL office. Candidates must reside within 75-miles of the Northfield office.
Salary: $158,000 - $206,000
