Technical Specialists in Automation and Tooling are a new addition to final assembly but will be integral to our operations, serving as the strategic leads for advanced tooling systems withing specific teams; VCT, M&E and Automation. The **_MFGE Tech Specialist- Automation_** engineer will be specialized in robotics and automation tooling cells for final assembly. This position demands comprehensive technical mastery, and leveraging data analytics to understanding root cause towards high hurt quality and systemic process/tooling related issues. Tech specialists will be responsible for fielding and resolving systemic issues pertaining to their specialty from both internal and external customers. Travel to sites and suppliers is a necessary component of this position. Moreover, Technical Specialists are anticipated to be key contributors to the research, development, and successful deployment of cutting-edge technologies across our global production footprint.

What you'll do:
+ Conduct comprehensive technical assessments to strategically identify and evaluate opportunities for the application of robotic automation within final assembly, driving innovation and efficiency.
+ Collaborate extensively with product development teams to technically influence and drive product design for tooling enablement and quality improvements
+ Provide expert technical guidance and oversight for tooling design and build activities, working closely with the supplier interface team (VIS) to ensure technical specifications are met.
+ Lead root cause analysis activities pertaining to current production robotic & automation cells
+ Lead migration activities and actions towards systemic quality issues stemming from automated tooling
+ Pioneer and establish new, cutting-edge technical standards
+ Provide technical oversight and guidance to Tier 1 suppliers
+ Perform expert-level programming and troubleshooting for tooling
+ Guide PFMEA activities and conducting rigorous static/dynamic assessments to proactively identify, analyze, and mitigate technical risks within the manufacturing process.
+ Prepare and deliver compelling, technically detailed presentations and demonstrations for leadership reviews and program team reviews, effectively communicating complex technical information.
+ Collaborate as a technical authority with cross-functional teams (e.g., MTD, MP&L, VOME) and other stakeholders to precisely identify, define, and technically validate requirements and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for automated processes.
Minimum Qualifications:
+ BSc, Mechanical Engineering (Electrical Engineering, Industrial or a related field)
+ Excellent communication skills, technical presenter and master “story teller”
+ 10- 15 years' experience with equipment respective tooling/equipment
+ 7 years' experience supporting in plant implementation of respective equipment
+ Expert with SCAAF/PFMEA process
+ REDX Problem Solver
