In this position…
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Global Communications Strategy & Planning Manager to play a pivotal role in optimizing and evolving Ford's Global Communications function. This position is critical for driving strategic planning, measurement, operational excellence, and insights-driven decision-making, directly supporting Ford's key business priorities. The successful candidate will be instrumental in enhancing communication planning processes, architectures, and overall effectiveness across the function.
What you'll do…
Strategic Communications Planning & Optimization:
+ Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of communications planning models, processes, and templates to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
+ Manage and support the annual and monthly communications planning cycles, including operations reviews, calendar management, and collaboration site oversight.
+ Assess existing communication processes to identify and implement improvements and support the communications risk and issues management framework.
Measurement, Analysis & Strategic Insights:
+ Drive a data-driven approach by synthesizing complex quantitative and qualitative data into actionable insights, presenting findings to business leaders to inform key decisions.
+ Conduct audience research and white space analysis to tailor messaging and communication plans.
+ Partner with the Global Communications analytics team to audit and improve reporting cadences, evaluate communication impact against business objectives, and provide data-driven recommendations for strategy optimization.
+ Build, maintain, and share a Global Communications intelligence library encompassing cultural, channel, content, audience, and business insights.
3. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Capability Building:
+ Cultivate and maintain strong collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders across Global Communications, Marketing, and Investor Relations, as well as external partners and agencies.
+ Facilitate effective information dissemination within Global Communications through regular cadences.
+ Develop and share best practices in communications strategy, planning, and measurement, conducting global trainings to enhance team capabilities.
+ Continuously deepen understanding of Ford's business units, products, and strategic plans to ensure communications strategies are well-informed, impactful, and aligned with company objectives.
+ Demonstrate a commitment to continuous personal development of functional competencies and leadership abilities.
You'll have…
+ 5-7+ years of experience in a communications strategy, brand strategy or planner role, in-house and/or on the agency side - agency experience not required, but a plus
+ B.A. college degree in a relevant field such as communications, journalism, public relations, or marketing
+ 2 + years of Project Management and/or Stakeholder Management
