Job Summary
The Vice President, North America Specialty Ingredients, holds full profit and loss (P&L) responsibility for all North America Specialty Ingredients businesses, encompassing Edible Beans, Wholesome Ingredients, and Proteins. This role is accountable for driving the strategic direction, aggressive growth, and oversight of the platform, demonstrating operational acumen and a hands-on approach to problem resolution as immediate issues and operational challenges arise, ensuring robust financial performance and alignment with overall company objectives. The Vice President will partner extensively with various internal teams to ensure seamless execution of key initiatives across the North American region
Key Responsibilities
General Management:
+ Ensures the team consistently executes against strategy and meets North American customer needs, with ongoing monitoring of financial performance and implementation of corrective actions.
+ Provides strong leadership, coaching, and fosters a collaborative, inclusive team culture within the business unit.
+ Oversees daily operations, demonstrating operational acumen and a hands-on approach to problem resolution by effectively addressing immediate issues and operational challenges as they arise, ensuring customer needs are met and a strong culture is maintained.
+ Establishes and maintains effective pricing strategies for all product groups within the North American market.
+ Partners with Operations, Creation, Design & Development (CD&D), and Quality Assurance (QA) to drive continuous improvements in processes and product portfolios.
+ Prepares comprehensive monthly business updates for ADM Nutrition leadership, including financial estimates, forecasts, risk/opportunity identification, and sales pipeline progress.
Financial Management & Risk Oversight:
+ Assumes full P&L ownership for the North America Specialty Ingredients platform.
+ Develops robust financial models and manages production/sales volumes, coordinating raw material sourcing with North American origination and commercial teams.
+ Reviews sales/purchase contracts and manages commodity risk balances appropriately.
+ Sets guidance and manages price risk/margins based on North American market conditions and internal forecasts.
+ Possesses a deep understanding of the North American supply chain and trade execution, actively monitoring inventory levels and trends.
+ Collaborates with Credit and Customer Support to proactively manage accounts receivable risk in North America.
Strategic Planning:
+ Develops comprehensive annual and 5-year strategic and aggressive growth plans for the North America Specialty Ingredients platform, working closely with cross-functional leadership.
+ Partners with Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) on budget development and detailed financial reporting.
+ Identifies and cultivates relationships with potential partners and Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) targets to accelerate business growth within North America.
+ Ensures the team meets and exceeds capital project goals and objectives.
Go-to-Market Strategy & Execution:
+ Works with North American commercial champions to develop customer engagement and go-to-market plans
+ Partners with Operations to identify innovative methods for optimizing existing assets for functional ingredient goals or higher plant utilization.
+ Collaborates with CD&D and Marketing to ensure competitive differentiation and a unique value proposition for assigned product lines.
+ Ensures effective deployment of marketing plans across North America.
+ Defines and executes go-to-market plans for all targeted product categories in the region.
+ Partners with North American logistics and supply chain teams to develop efficient supply chains for key raw materials and finished products.
+ Coaches and develops cross-functional sales and CD&D teams to ensure consistent execution of each unique product strategy in North America.
Sales & Customer Support Leadership:
+ Manages the North America Specialty Ingredients pipeline, ensuring purposeful engagement with sales and technical teams for successful customer project execution.
+ Drives pipeline growth and execution in all prioritized regions within North America.
+ Develops engagement plans and prepares impactful commercial presentations for key North American customers.
+ Oversees day-to-day business execution, including customer interactions, costing/pricing discussions, and trade show preparation in North America.
Qualifications
Required Skills:
+ **Executive Leadership:** Proven experience leading a P&L (including capital expenditures) for a significant business unit, with a strong history of developing and empowering teams. This includes demonstrated operational acumen and a hands-on approach to problem resolution, coupled with the ability to understand operational intricacies and take decisive action to resolve day-to-day challenges for effective business management.
+ **Strategic & Entrepreneurial Acumen:** Possesses a clear strategic vision, an entrepreneurial mindset, and a passion for innovation, coupled with the ability to independently solve complex problems.
+ **Financial & Analytical Proficiency:** Highly skilled in financial modeling and risk management, capable of transforming complex data into clear, actionable insights using tools such as Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and PowerBI.
+ **Collaboration & Influence:** Thrives in a complex, multicultural environment, building strong relationships and effectively influencing stakeholders across different functions and levels, particularly within the North American market.
+ **Results Orientation & Adaptability:** Demonstrates urgency, maintains flexibility under pressure, and is driven to consistently exceed expectations.
+ **Travel:** Ability to travel as required
Preferred Skills:
+ Prior experience with plant-based proteins (e.g., dry beans, peas, soy) or other key Specialty Ingredient categories.
+ In-depth knowledge of agricultural commodity markets.
+ Experience in value-added ingredient processing or packaging (e.g., milling, extrusion, dehydration).
+ Prior experience in food service or co-manufacturing services.
+ A strong blend of technical and commercial experience.
+ Experience leading or participating in Joint Ventures (JVs) and/or Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) activities.
Education
+ Bachelor's degree in Finance, Marketing, Business Management, or Food Science with strong business aptitude.
+ MBA preferred.

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours.
If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base pay (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
The pay range for this position is expected to be between:

Salaried Incentive Plan:
