    _What’s the job?_

     

    In this position, employees will tarp trucks in the warehouse safely and efficiently to safely transport products from CertainTeed to our customers.

     

    **Shift:** 1st (7am to 3pm) OR 2nd (3pm to 11pm)

    **Compensation:** $21.00/hour

    Job Duties:

    + Understand all safety procedures associated with the tarp operation

    + Strap and edge protector application procedures

    + Tarp machine operations (machine operations)

    + Ergonomics associated with handling tarps

    + Ergonomics associated with handling tarp materials (poly sheet rolls)

    + Understand hand safety associated with strap & tarp handling

    + Understand Pedestrian & Mobile Equipment safety in the work area

    + General housecleaning of the work area

    + Operate front-end loader, forklift, dump truck, bulldozer, water truck, and other mobile equipment

    + Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner

    + Understand Plant & Distribution Safety Rules

    + Able to understand and apply all safety procedures

    + Understand and follow all SOPs related to the Distribution (tarp) operations

    + Understand all Plant emergency situations & procedures

    + Complete Employee Safety Orientation & all safety training programs

    + Report all safety incidents to Team or Group Leaders

    + Proper use of necessary PPE required in the Plant work areas

    + Could be reassigned and required to perform other duties as requested or, directed

     

    _What do you bring?_

    Required Qualifications:

    + High school or equivalent (Required)

    + Previous forklift experience (Preferred)

    + Excellent team working skills

    + Ability to demonstrate acceptable attendance and work days, nights, or weekends as scheduled

    + Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including hearing protection, steel toe shoes, safety glasses, and hard hats

    + Ability to lift, pull, push, and carry up to 50 pounds

    + Ability to work 8 hour shifts – 7 am to 3 pm or 3 pm to 11 pm or 11 pm to 7 am

    Working Conditions:

    + Ability to work 12-hour shifts

    + Ability to work in office or warehouse setting, including various climate environments

    + Ability to work in Production floor elements, including dust, noise & odors

    + Ability to demonstrate acceptable attendance

    + Ability and willingness to work overtime as required

    Physical Demands:

    + Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including hearing protection, steel toe shoes, safety glasses, and hard hats

    + Ability to lift, pull, push, and carry up to 50 pounds
