Stow Health and Wellness Center is looking to add a School Athletic Trainer to the team who will support the Kent State University hockey team. You will provide sports medicine services to the team on a as needed basis and work closely with other clinicians on the medical team. This is a high-level hockey program that respects the role of the Athletic Trainer. This role offers multiple continuing education events throughout the year, allowing you to have the opportunity to grow in this field.

A caregiver in this position works PRN (as needed). The hours can consist of Saturday and Sunday from 4:00PM - 10:00PM and 1-2 hours in the morning, 2-3 times during the week.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

+ Maintain weekly hours for evaluation and rehabilitation of athletic injuries.

+ Prioritize athletic training coverage of games and practices.

+ Communicate with coaching staff, team physician and parents.

+ Maintain needed supplies, equipment and records of injuries and rehabilitations.

+ Advise coaches on in-season and out-of-season conditioning programs.

+ Complete mandatory education and training in order to maintain organization and department specific competencies and requirements.

+ Maintain required BLS.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

+ National Athletic Trainers Association Board of Certification (NATABOC)

+ Licensed to practice Athletic Training in the state of Ohio

+ Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

+ Experience with high-impact and fast-paced sports such as hockey
