Required Skills:

Software Engineer (Systems) Responsibilities:

1. Research, design, develop, build and test software applications or systems for various mobile software services.

2. Build new features and improve existing products.

3. Work on problems of moderate scope.

4. Push code, drive the development of the systems behind our products, and build features in mobile applications that reach billions of people, build high volume features, and be a part of a team to connect people around the globe.

5. Implement custom native user interfaces using the latest Android programming techniques and development tools.

6. Develop a strong understanding of relevant product area, codebase, and/or systems.

7. Demonstrate proficiency in data analysis, programming and software engineering.

8. Produce high quality code with good test coverage, using modern abstractions and frameworks.

9. Receive general instructions on routine work and detailed instructions on new projects or assignments, work independently, use available resources to get unblocked, and complete tasks on-schedule by exercising strong judgment and problem solving skills.

10. Master internal development standards from developing to releasing code in order to take on tasks and projects with increasing levels of complexity.

11. Actively seek and give feedback in alignment with company Performance Philosophy.

12. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Analytics, Mathematics, or a related field

13. Requires completion of a university-level course, research project, or internship involving the following:

14. 1. Coding in C,C++, C#, Python, Java, or JavaScript

15. 2. Python, PHP, or Haskell

16. 3. Relational databases and SQL

17. 4. Software development tools: Code editors (VIM or Emacs), and revision control systems (Subversion, GIT, or Perforce)

18. 5. Building highly-scalable performant solutions

19. 6. Building large-scale infrastructure applications

20. 7. Linux, UNIX, or other *nix-like OS as evidenced by file manipulation, advanced commands, and shell scripting

21. 8. Data processing, programming languages, databases, networking, operating systems, computer graphics, or human-computer interaction

22. 9. Applying algorithms and core computer science concepts to real world systems as evidenced by recognizing and matching patterns from different areas of computer science in production systems

23. 10. Designing and completing medium to large software features independently without guidance

24. 11. Experience owning a particular software component, feature, or system

25. 12. Design scalable distributed systems with established partition tolerance, consistency, and availability guarantees

27. 14. Building interfaces for Android applications

28. 15. Building maintainable and testable code bases, including API design and unit testing techniques

29. 16. Multithreading programming and mobile memory management

$182,002/year to $200,200/year + bonus + equity + benefits
