    Student Disability Services Manager (HEA)

    POSITION DETAILS

    The Student Disability Services Manager will report to the Director of Student Disability Services. In addition to the CUNY Title Overview, the Student Disability Services Manager duties include but are not limited to the following:

     

    + Provides individual evaluation, guidance, and ongoing support services to students with disabilities who are registered with the Access Ability Center through approval and facilitation of reasonable accommodations.

    + Communicates Disability Accommodation Letters to students and faculty through management of the CUNY Accommodate platform.

    + Oversees exam accommodation coordination through oversight of support staff, interns, and college assistants.

    + Oversees AccessAbility Center assistive technology efforts.

    + Organizes Disability Awareness Month activities and year-round campus outreach efforts.

    + Works with 504 Compliance Coordinator to address accommodations compliance issues.

    + Conducts assessment, including but not limited to student learning outcomes.

    + Works in collaboration with the Counseling Center and Student Health Services to provide coordinated care for students with related medical and psychological issues.

    + Supervises and/or direct the support staff and other full- and part-time professionals engaged in providing services to students with disabilities.

    + Fosters staff development, while ensuring the proper credentialing of each individual.

    + Works with CUNY LEADS Specialist to provide information and refer students to the program.

    + Reviews and analyzes statistical data regarding campus disability services and prepare reports required by government agencies. Prepare reports and recommend improvements in disability services to management. Implement and monitor success of improvements and new programs.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Bachelor's degree and six years' related experience required.

     

    Master’s degree preferred.

    CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW

    Develops, and manages delivery of, services to students with special needs.

     

    - Oversees daily office operations and provides training and supervision to staff

     

    - Directs one or more distinct programs in support of the unit in an area of expertise, developing plans, providing services, and managing facilities and equipment

     

    - Collects and analyzes relevant program and outcomes data, (tracking usage, satisfaction with initiatives, and impact on student retention and success

     

    - Develops programs to ensure inclusiveness as well as compliance with applicable laws, regulations and policies

     

    - Prepares reports and develops other communications including publications, workshops, and web site materials

     

    - Performs related duties as assigned.

    COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

    Salary Range: $86,645 - $96,602. Salary commensurate with education and experience.

     

    CUNY is in the process of implementing salary schedule increases. Once implemented, salaries of eligible employees will be adjusted by 6.09% with additional increases of 3.25% effective 9/1/2025 and 3.5% effective 9/1/26, in accordance with the terms of the PSC-CUNY collective bargaining agreement.
