Professional Writing Tutor (Full Time, 10 month)

Siena College is accepting applications for the full-time 10-month position of Professional Writing Tutor in the Writing Center. The Professional Writing Tutor provides tutoring in written and oral communication and reading comprehension. The professional tutor consults with students, faculty, and staff, works in conjunction with the Director of the Writing Center to assess and identify students in need of literacy support, and collaborates to create and teach group and individual tutorials on academic writing. The Professional Writing Tutor also supports the writing mentoring program.
Annual Salary- 10 Months - $51,120.00

Job Requirements:
+ Master's degree.
+ At least two years relevant experience in higher education.
+ Knowledge and experience of tutoring theory and practice; methods and issues in writing and literacy tutoring and instruction; tutoring and teaching a diverse population of students; curriculum and/or course development; and student success theory and practice
+ Knowledge of TESOL methods and/or demonstrated success working with English as New Language Learners preferred
+ Experience with Microsoft Office and Google Docs; comfort with learning new academic technologies
+ Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
+ A background screening will be required.
