**Salary Range** : Hourly from $27.84 to $40.82; Annually from $58,130 to $85,232

THE POSITION AND THE DEPARTMENT
The Student Learning Assessment Specialist is responsible for owning the college’s student learning assessment infrastructure for 15,000 students (unduplicated headcount) in the curriculum and co-curriculum for the largest college and second largest undergraduate institution in the Minnesota State system. In addition, this position provides comprehensive curricular assessment support to over 300 faculty in 35 academic departments for more than 70 programs of study. This position is responsible for ensuring that all aspects of our assessment work are effective and efficient.
This role is of strategic importance to the college. Assessment is fundamental to culturally-responsive and student-ready course design and delivery. This role helps advance Normandale's strategic objectives, particularly in encouraging racial equity in educational results and championing a culturally proficient college environment. It also contributes to achievement of Minnesota State’s Equity 2030 goals, primarily that of student academic success. Assessment is also an important consideration in curriculum, and a key component in academic program review and in annual department work planning and execution. Finally, this position is critical to ensuring that the college’s student learning assessment processes meet the Higher Learning Commission’s (HLC) Criteria for Accreditation core component 3.E (assessment of student learning).
Under limited supervision, this position serves as the lead of a large program. This position establishes operating procedures and processes including program(s) goals and work plans; **collaborates on development and spending for** a $90,000 non-personnel budget; and may provide lead work to other professional level advising positions or administrative support staff.
Essential role in furthering college's goals: promote equity in education, encourage cultural responsiveness.
Minimum Qualifications
+ Two (2) years’ experiences with post-secondary teaching; Bachelor's degree in education, educational administration, business administration, or related field can be substituted for 12 months; Master’s degree in education, educational administration, business administration, or related field can be substituted for 18 months.
+ Proven experience leading student learning assessment for a college or university.
+ A proven dedication to Equity & Inclusion.
+ Experience collaborating with multiple stakeholders to successfully develop and execute initiatives or projects.

+ Ability to create reports and presentations that satisfy stakeholder requirements.
+ Ability to analyze data and appropriately use it in decision making.
+ Ability to develop and sustain productive working relationships with a variety of stakeholders
+ Ability to manage projects.
Preferred Qualification
+ Community college teaching experience.
+ Experience with the HLC accreditation requirements for student learning assessment.
+ Experience working in a collective bargaining environment.
