Job Summary and Qualifications

_Position Objective:_

The Security Officer performs a variety of duties involving safety, security, emergency management, monitors CCTV cameras, responds to and investigates security incidents, and assists and interacts with patients, visitors, vendors and staff as needed. This job description does not state or imply that these are the only duties to be performed. Security Officers maybe required to perform other tasks or duties as requested by the Security Manager or Director.

_Position Qualifications:_

_JOB KNOWLEDGE ANDSKILLS :_

+ Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective security operationsfortheprotectionofstaff,patients,dataandpropertyofFrisbieMemorialHospital.

+ Ability to maintain calm composure under stressful conditions.

+ Ability to use effective people skills(e.g., eye contact, tone of voice, facial expression) in person, on the phone (identify itself), and in every contact as a representative of FMH.

+ Ability to handle interpersonal situations and crisis management scenarios.

+ Displays sound customer service skills.

+ Ability to prepare clear, concise reports and routine correspondence.

+ Ability to gather facts and evidence.

+ Ability to deescalate disruptive or harmful behavior and physically interact as necessary.

+ Ability to lift patients, walk at a rapid pace, walk and stand for extended periods of time and withstand adverse weather conditions.

+ Computer literate and able to use e-mail and basic Microsoft Word and Excel applications.

+ Ability to speak, read, and write clearly in English.

_What qualifications you will need:_

+ Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

+ Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
