Job Title: Business analyst – Sustainability & ESG Reporting
Contract Duration: 18 months (Expected full duration)
Work Schedule: Monday–Friday | 40 hours/week | No overtime
Pay Rate Range: $34 to $37hr on W2
Summary of Responsibilities
+ Maintain communication across business units and project teams
+ Store and retrieve project communication data and business metrics
+ Review contracts, cost proposals, and supplements
+ Set up project and work breakdown structures
+ Document and establish business processes
+ Track budgets, monitor costs, and control expenditures
+ Predict and prevent potential budget overruns
Required Qualifications
+ **Experience:** 5–7 years in business operations, ESG reporting, or related roles
+ **Education:** Degree in sustainability, environmental science, or a numerate discipline preferred (not mandatory)
Disqualifiers
+ Candidates with only carbon accounting experience (scope 1/2/3 emissions reporting)
+ No experience with broader ESG regulatory reporting
Preferred Experience
+ Regulatory knowledge: Energy Efficiency Directive, Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), Carbon/Climate Risk Reporting
+ Industry background: Large matrixed organizations (e.g., Microsoft, AWS, Meta, oil/gas, pharma)
+ Bonus: Project management experience, interest in agentic AI
Performance Metrics
+ Timely delivery of assigned tasks (tracked in Microsoft Planner)
+ Achievement of documented project goals and objectives
+ Weekly progress reviews with the team
Top 3 Required Hard Skills
+ Sustainability/ESG Reporting: Minimum 5–7 years
+ Power BI: Required for reporting and data visualization
+ Cross-Functional Communication: Experience liaising with SMEs and executives in large organizations
Additional Skills
+ Strong verbal and written communication
+ Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
+ Knowledge of strategic planning and resource allocation
+ Analytical mindset with business and financial acumen
+ Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel; enterprise tools a plus
