    Duties Description The duties of this CAPS 2 position include supervising (4) grade 18 program managers and serving as the NYS Children’s Justice Task Force (CJTF) Chairperson.Additional duties include:• Providing technical assistance to CAC/MDTs to achieve compliance with OCFS CAC/MDT Program Standards, and NYS statute.• Assisting in contract development and monitoring of numerous contracts, fulfilling state reporting requirements, providing technical assistance in navigating the Contract Management System (CMS) for CAC lead agencies and ensuring they’re adhering to the terms and conditions of their contracts. • Conducting annual in-person site visits to CAC/MDTs statewide. Issuing annual site visit letters and issuing program improvement plans (PIPs) as warranted.• Collaborating with Bureau of Training and Development as subject matter experts in the review of OCFS sponsored forensic interviewing curriculum. • Collaborating/contract with the New York State Children’s Alliance (NYSCA) and ensuring they’re meeting the technical assistance needs of CAC/MDTs statewide, and also adhering to the terms and conditions of their OCFS contract.

     

    Minimum Qualifications A bachelor’s degree and three years of professional children and family services experience* including or supplemented by two years in the planning, development, or delivery of child abuse and/or neglect prevention programs. Experience must also include or be supplemented by one year of investigative experience and one year of professional supervision. Two years of successful permanent experience as a Child Abuse Prevention Specialist 1 may substitute for the one year of professional level supervision.*Children and family services experience may include, but is not limited to, adoption services, foster care services for children and/or adults, preventive services, and protective services for children and/or adults.

     

    Additional Comments Background Investigation Requirements:1) All prospective employees will be investigated through a Criminal Background Check (CBC), which includes State and federal Criminal History Record Checks. All convictions must be reported; conviction of a felony or misdemeanor, or any falsified or omitted information on the prospective appointee’s employment application, may bar appointment or result in removal after appointment. Each case will be determined on its own merits, consistent with the applicable provisions of State and federal laws, rules, and regulations. Prospective employees will be fingerprinted in order to obtain a record of their criminal history information, and may be required to pay any necessary fees. 2) All prospective employees will be screened against the Statewide Central Register of Child Abuse and Maltreatment (SCR). Prospective employees will be required to pay any necessary fees. 3) For Division of Juvenile Justice and Opportunities for Youth (DJJOY) prospective appointees will be checked against the Staff Exclusion List (SEL) maintained by the Justice Center for the Protection of People with Special Needs. Prospective employees whose names appear on the SEL as having been found responsible for serious or repeated acts of abuse or neglect will be barred from appointment and may have their names removed from the eligible list(s) for the title(s) if applicable.
