Description

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Sr Accountant/Accounting Manager to join our dynamic finance team during a critical period of growth and transformation. As the organization prepares for an upcoming Oracle ERP system implementation, this role will play a vital part in maintaining internal audit coverage and supporting compliance and control functions across finance operations. This is a high-impact role best suited for a self-starter with strong analytical abilities, excellent communication skills, and a keen attention to detail. You’ll be collaborating closely with finance and operational departments, reviewing contracts and vendor documentation, and ensuring that financial transactions and controls are executed according to policy and industry standards. While this position does not involve direct management, you may provide guidance to an intern working in the audit space. This is a full-time contract position, with the potential of converting to a full-time hire.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Perform Comprehensive Internal Audits:

+ Conduct audits across departments with a primary focus on financial areas such as accounts receivable, accounts payable, contracts, and inventory.

+ Contract Review and Compliance Verification:

+ Examine vendor contracts and validate that services or products received are aligned with contractual terms.

+ Audit Reporting and Recommendations:

+ Document findings, prepare audit reports, and communicate risks, discrepancies, and improvement opportunities to stakeholders.

+ Stakeholder Collaboration:

+ Work closely with department managers and team leads to implement corrective actions and improve internal control procedures.

+ Data Analysis and Accuracy Checks:

+ Analyze financial data for accuracy, consistency, and compliance with regulatory and internal standards.

+ Support Special Projects:

+ Assist with ad hoc audit-related projects, especially those tied to documentation and compliance around the Oracle ERP implementation.

+ Process Improvement:

+ Recommend and support the development of stronger internal controls and streamlined processes to reduce risk and improve efficiency.

Requirements

Key Qualifications:

Experience: 3–5 years of internal audit or financial reporting experience

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

Certifications: CPA preferred but not required

Technical Skills:

+ Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel

+ Familiarity with audit management tools and ERP systems (Oracle experience is a plus)

Soft Skills:

+ Independent and self-motivated

+ Strong problem-solving abilities

+ Capable of operating in a fast-paced environment

+ Effective at managing follow-ups and seeing tasks through to completion
