Description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Staff Accountant to join our team in West Palm Beach, Florida. This role requires a highly organized individual with strong expertise in accounting processes, financial reporting, and system management. The ideal candidate will excel at maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with regulations, and supporting the organization’s accounting functions.

Responsibilities:

• Perform cost accounting tasks and oversee general accounting responsibilities to ensure accuracy and compliance.

• Prepare monthly financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss reports.

• Maintain and update the general ledger while coding invoices and reconciling accounts.

• Conduct monthly bank reconciliations and verify deposits while addressing inquiries from financial institutions.

• Manage accounts receivable collections and reconcile various accounts, such as payroll and cash disbursement.

• Process accounts payable invoices and ensure payments are allocated to the correct accounts.

• Assist external auditors by providing required documents and account information for annual audits.

• File tax forms with federal, state, and local agencies to ensure timely compliance.

• Collaborate with software vendors to maintain and improve accounting systems, recommending updates as needed.

• Oversee the purchasing and invoicing systems while maintaining knowledge of relevant accounting practices.

Requirements • Proven experience in month-end close processes and general ledger management.

• Strong skills in preparing journal entries and performing account reconciliations.

• Expertise in bank reconciliations and financial statement preparation.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions and macros.

• Familiarity with accounting software implementation and maintenance.

• Knowledge of Microsoft SQL for data analysis and reporting.

• Solid understanding of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.

• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
