Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in New York, New York. This role focuses on managing and refining accounts payable processes while ensuring data accuracy and completeness. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in data cleansing and account reconciliation, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities:

• Perform thorough data cleansing and validation for accounts payable records.

• Reconcile account discrepancies and ensure accurate financial reporting.

• Analyze and organize large volumes of financial data to maintain consistency.

• Collaborate with team members to streamline accounts payable processes.

• Utilize Microsoft Excel to create detailed reports and manage financial data.

• Identify and resolve issues related to master data within accounts payable.

• Support compliance efforts by ensuring adherence to accounting standards.

• Provide recommendations for improving data accuracy and operational efficiency.

• Maintain organized documentation of all reconciliations and adjustments.

• Assist with additional accounting tasks as needed to support team objectives. Requirements • Proven experience in data cleansing and maintaining accurate financial records.

• Strong skills in account reconciliation and resolving discrepancies.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions and data analysis.

• Familiarity with accounts payable processes and financial systems.

• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.

• Excellent communication skills for collaborating with team members.

• Prior experience in a similar accounting role is highly desirable.
