Description
We are looking for an experienced and meticulous Senior Accountant to join our team. In this long-term contract role, you will play a key part in overseeing financial processes within a manufacturing environment, ensuring accuracy and compliance in all accounting operations. This opportunity is ideal for professionals with a robust background in cost accounting, inventory management, and financial reporting.
Responsibilities:
• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes for manufacturing operations, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and detailed financial statements.
• Maintain and analyze standard costs, cost of goods sold, and manufacturing variances to ensure precise financial tracking.
• Oversee inventory transactions, including cycle counts and physical inventory reconciliation, to uphold inventory accuracy.
• Ensure proper recording and tracking of work-in-process and finished goods inventory.
• Perform margin analysis and identify cost drivers to provide actionable insights on operational efficiencies.
• Work closely with plant and operations managers to support financial transparency and improve performance metrics.
• Assist in developing budgets and forecasts for manufacturing-related expenses and capital investments.
• Ensure adherence to internal controls, company policies, and industry standards in all accounting activities.
• Prepare necessary documentation and schedules to support internal and external audit processes.
Requirements • Proven experience in month-end close processes and general ledger management.
• Proficiency in preparing journal entries and performing account reconciliations with accuracy.
• Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles and manufacturing operations.
• Experience with inventory control, including cycle counts and physical inventory.
• Ability to analyze financial data and provide insights into cost drivers and variances.
• Familiarity with budgeting and forecasting processes within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to ensure compliance with internal controls and policies.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
